APSA is pleased to announce the collaboration with Safe Brain Initiative (SBI) – and the formation of a new thematic network, SBI–India, to advance Perioperative Brain Health in India.
SBI–India is being established as a thematic network through a collaboration between Safe Brain Initiative (SBI) and Anesthesia Patient Safety Association (APSA), India, under the aegis of APSA.
With a shared vision of enhancing perioperative brain health and perioperative patient safety, SBI–India aims to build capacity among anesthesia professionals through education, training, research and collaboration focused on the brain throughout the perioperative journey, especially in the geriatric vulnerable population.
SBI–India will promote practical approaches to perioperative brain health.
Focus on practical approaches to assessing cognition and frailty before surgery.
Promote EEG monitoring and its clinical integration throughout the perioperative journey.
Develop approaches that support cognitive preparation before surgery.
Explore cognitive retraining approaches within perioperative brain health.
Encourage research and innovation in perioperative brain health.
Build professional capacity through education, training and knowledge sharing.
Designed for anesthesia professionals and clinicians interested in perioperative brain health, the Boot Camp will combine international and national expertise, practical demonstrations, case-based learning and interactive training.
Building foundations and progressing to clinical application.
The Boot Camp will also provide opportunities to interact with industry and technology partners, explore contemporary EEG technologies and understand how emerging tools can support clinical practice.
SBI–India aims to bring together anesthesia professionals, neuroscientists, researchers and allied healthcare professionals to build a collaborative community dedicated to protecting and improving brain health before, during and after surgery.
